Some interesting info there – YAY for a women only taxi service, anything which opens up conversation on depression (yep been there done that), and I saw Embrace last week and LOVED it so much I blogged about it on Friday with a post called, “I Don’t Hate My Body” (mind you dunno that I love it either … but still!)

    Sadly I missed Embrace when it showed locally (as I was moving house) but my friends all went!

  3. I am a fan of both mindfulness and Dr Mark Williams. I listen to him on a CD about working your way through depression via mindfulness. He is a genius. If I were still in a school as a principal, knowing what I know now, I would be doing all I could to introduce this for teachers and kids (and parents!!)

      Absolutely, I wish more schools would recognise the benefit of preventative mental wellbeing for children.

  4. Mindfulness in schools is a great concept. I also think DBT skills itself should be taught in schools as the skills of emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance and interpersonal skills are all so beneficial! My only problem with mindfulness in schools is that I don’t think all schools get mindfulness — the school I work at seems to assume it’s about relaxation when in fact, it isn’t. I’ve been trying to educate them but it does make me wonder how many others have that belief.

      That is such a great point, and why the introduction of mindfulness in schools should be done by those who are trained in it. Yes, DBT skills would benefit so many-particularly teens!

  5. I may use a women only taxi service. I remember catching a taxi in Paris, late at night, when I was 20 with my Mum and she wanted to wait until we found a female taxi driver. It wasn’t even in my mind until she mentioned it…I’d always just jumped in the next available cab. Thanks for linking up with the Ultimate Rabbit Hole – guest host, Shari from GoodFoodWeek.

      There are more female friendly services these days, I think it is great to see for women who want/need to use them 🙂
